It seems like Fall Out Boy really are that boy band in emo as each release progresses. Take for example, “What A Catch, Donnie” off the group’s forthcoming album, Folie A Deux:

You’ve got to give the Fall Out Boyz a good chunk of credit. They’re beating My Chemical Romance at their own game with this sprawling, string lead, rock-opera-esq rant, they’ve got their hands full of fellow emo-minded friends, and they continue to pull an odd array of pop artists into the mix, this time with Elvis Costello. They may make shiny pop, but they inject that shine with a certain level of intelligence and self-awareness. A check in the emo arms race if I’ve ever seen one.
