Some aldermen sponsor ordinances and resolutions. Alderman Rey Colón sponsors concerts. The 35th Ward Alderman’s website declares that the representative for parts of Avondale, Humboldt Park, Irving Park, and Logan Square, “has been an independent, progressive leader in the City Council since May 2003.â€
It came as a bit of a surprise to see that an alderman would co-sponsor a concert featuring Dan Deacon and Lightning Bolt. Needless to say, I wanted to know more. So, I bothered Alderman Rey Colón’s office until I got an interview. Read it here, and check out the video below:
