I was shocked – shocked – when I saw this on the A.V. Club homepage: New “supergroup” featuring Justin Vernon, P.O.S., members of Megafaun and The Rosebuds, et al., looks awesome, awful, awesome again Just the combination of Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and P.O.S. sent my brain into overdrive. So, I hopped over to Jagjaguwar … [Read more…]

Video Friday: 'The Room' remixed

February 12, 2010 / Leave a Comment

Tonight, Chicago’s Music Box Theatre will be present a special screening of “The Room,” with director/actor/screenwriter/producer Tommy Wiseau in attendance. It’s known as one of the worst movies of all time thanks to its inept direction, terrible acting and near-alien understanding of how people act and interact with each other. The oddball movie has become … [Read more…]

Will Too Much Joy ruin the Music Industry's digital joy?

December 2, 2009 / Leave a Comment

The A.V. Club posted a link to Tim Quirk’s blog post on the odd inconsistencies of digital downloads and the money that artists recoup. Or don’t ever see for that matter. Quirk, former frontman for Too Much Joy, detailed the rather heinous business practices on his blog after receiving a “Royalty Statement” from Warner Brothers. … [Read more…]

Don't Call It A Comeback

November 5, 2009 / Leave a Comment

A little blog entry from a little emo band coming out of PA got me thinking: Don’t expect a reunion show! I write this because we recently celebrated our third anniversary. Three years are a long time for a band such as ours, especially when you take into consideration that many of our predecessors and … [Read more…]

Peter Bagge's 'Hate' coming to Fox TV?

October 13, 2009 / Leave a Comment

Fantagraphics Books reported one of the more curious potential TV pilots in recent years: Our own Peter Bagge has a development deal with FOX for THE BRADLEYS and the network has just ordered a pilot.
